Last weekend was a blast! Leslie and Anthony first met in High School, he was a Football Player and she was in Color Guard. They were not High School Sweethearts but fate brought them together several years after school and now they are due to wed in September. We First hit the the beautiful and picturesque Newport Beach were the weather could not have been any better, then we stopped by at the local Fair where we recreated a sort of a Grease moment, loved all the colors and the great people there allowing us to shot! we finished the day with a visit to their Bulldog Mascot, where they reminisced about those High School Days. It was a beautiful Day and thanks for letting me capture that wonderful LOVE between both of you.

Mothers Day at my house

I say my house but technically is my parents house, nevertheless it will always be home to me. At my mothers request we shot some close-ups of all the kids. She is working on a red portrait wall that she has all shapes of black frames and she will use black and white which will look stunning. She is a cancer survivor! isn't she stuning? I am so grateful for having her in my life, she is my hero.

A sunny California day was just what we needed for this Engagement Session, Sara is a total California Girl and Allen a Texas Cowboy and one of their first dates was on the Santa Monica Pier, perhaps that's when the fireworks started. I have never had to say CUT during a photo session, but it was the only way to break up all the KISSING that was going on! They are madly in LOVE and they will be so happy together once their wedding day is here July 10th.

Emma and Noah's birthday bash was full of haunting ghosts, creepy skeletons, Monsters and Super Heros. Frankenstein and his Bride welcomed all types of guests, some scarrier than others. I remember while growing up always having an Aloe Vera plant in our garden, it was our source of quick topical ointment. Any sunburns, wounds, cuts, scrapes, skin irritations and so on would be relieved by cutting a splitting up the leaf in half and applying it's slimy juice right on to our BOOBOO's.

Having both parents is something that I don't take for granted, the fortune of having both darling individuals so close to my heart and having them to rely on for advise is critical to my life. My father teaches me and guides me and makes me laugh with his stories, he is easy going and has great character and personality. My mother is my hero, if I can only be half the woman she is. Her willingness to offer service and always give, give, give. She shows by example and makes it look so easy. Both my parents would sacrifice anything for us kids. I love them so.

Last Friday I spent some time with "The Hansen Boys" They were extremely relaxed in welcoming me into their new home. They were excited to show me their Bobble Head Collection of The Dodger players, they are huge fans down to the newborn as you can see from the photos below. Steve brings 3 awesome kids into this family adding to Silvia's 3 fabulous kids totaling a whopping "Party of 8"You will not find a closer couple, they both are gifted teachers, he is a Football High School coach and she is a 1st grade teacher. Fact: Norm remembers Steve's dad from his coaching days at Grant HS. over 20+ years ago! small world HUH! We are thrilled about the addition to our family.

Our MLK Venice day trip

It all started by Sarah being bored to death so we thought of going down to the beach for a walk, we had not been to Venice Beach for years and so we headed down. I remember hearing about the Venice Canal and we happen to have walked right into it. It was beautiful, as you can see it is so picturesque with the new and the older houses. See for yourself, I think its the coolest location for an engagement session. The Boardwalk was just as interesting, the characters and things for sale are outragegous, we saw "Doctors on call" ready to prescribe medical MJ, 70 year old men in speedos, tons of vendors that sell unique items like "Obama Water" etc. I did not take those picture, ya got to see them for yourself to believe it. Overall we had a fun walk , I loved spending it with my crew.

I had the pleasure of photographing Anycca this past week, she is turning 15 next month and her parents are honoring her with a Quinceanera. "The quinceanera is a young Hispanic woman's celebration of her fifteenth birthday. This birthday is celebrated differently from her other birthdays. The quinceanera is considered to be the most important birthday as it symbolizes the transition from childhood to womanhood. This event is usually customary with a Mass and Celebration that follows"

Thanks to my darling husband for letting me get away to this 12k
photographers convention , and for my dear friend Lorena for hooking
me up with a full registration. I made the most of this educational
trip. Classes started at 8:30 and went as late as 9:30 pm. Now, I am a
stronger photographer.
